XMAX Starry V4 Dry Herb Vaporiser
The XMAX Starry V4 is the conduction device in the XMAX range, and that makes it the easiest of the three to get a result from. Where the convection models need a proper draw before vapour builds, the Starry V4 heats the chamber walls directly, so you get vapour from the first pull. Combined with a ceramic oven, a zirconia mouthpiece and an adjustable airflow dial, it is a straightforward, forgiving device at the budget end of the market.
Temperature runs from 160°C to 240°C on an OLED display with a flip function, so the screen stays readable whichever way you are holding it. Heat-up takes around 25 to 30 seconds. Session timers can be set to four, six or ten minutes, and a short vibration tells you when the device is ready rather than making you watch it.
Like the rest of the XMAX range, the battery is a swappable 2550mAh 18650 rather than a sealed cell. Carry a charged spare and you are never waiting on a charger, and when the battery eventually tires you replace it for a few dollars instead of replacing the vaporiser.

Getting the best from it
Two things matter more on this device than most. Do not overfill the chamber. It holds 0.4 g but XMAX recommends packing it about half full, roughly 0.2 g, and overpacking clogs the filter and chokes the airflow. And the top of the temperature range is hot. At 240°C you are closer to scorching your material than vaporising it, so start lower and work up. Most users settle well below the maximum.
Worth knowing: there is no pass-through charging, so the device cannot be used while plugged in, and the body gets noticeably warm after back-to-back sessions. Both are normal for this class of device.

The Starry V4 is the one to pick if you want to load it and go without thinking about technique. The V3 Pro and V4 Pro are convection, which generally means cleaner flavour, but they need a slower, longer draw to perform.
