Yocan iShred Electric Herb Grinder

The iShred is a battery-powered grinder built around a glass jar, so grinding and storing are the same step. Press the button, watch it work through the see-through lid, then lift the jar out and seal it. Nothing to tip, nothing to decant.

The grinding itself is handled by 1 mm precision zinc alloy blades, with the motor reversing whenever it meets resistance so material keeps circulating through the blades rather than packing against them. Two clicks starts auto mode and it runs hands-free; press and hold instead if you want to control it yourself and stop the moment the grind looks right.

That transparent lid is the part people notice. Most grinders are a closed box and you find out what you have when you open them. Here you watch it happen, which makes over-grinding much harder to do by accident.

A 450mAh battery gives around 100 minutes of motor time from a one-hour USB-C charge, which is a long time in grinder terms. Six colours.

iShred or Veke?

Same 450mAh battery, same zinc alloy blades, same auto-reverse and same two modes, so the grind is comparable. The difference is the glass jar.

The iShred grinds into a removable jar you can seal and keep, which suits preparing a batch and storing it. The Veke is the smaller, simpler unit without the jar: grind and tip out. Take the iShred if you prepare ahead; take the Veke if you grind as you go.

Keeping it clean

Brush out the blades every few uses before resin sets, and use the tweezers rather than fingers to clear the blade housing. The glass jar can be washed properly. The motor unit cannot, so wipe it down rather than soaking it, and keep water away from the charging port.
